The physical condition of Sharif Osman Hadi, convener of Inqilab Mancha and a fearless frontline fighter of the July mass uprising, who was shot, remains extremely critical. He is currently undergoing treatment in Singapore. The Chief Adviser’s Press Wing shared this update on his latest condition in a statement issued on Wednesday.
According to the press release, Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Vivian Balakrishnan, visited Sharif Osman Hadi at the hospital where he is receiving treatment. Later that night, he called Bangladesh’s Interim Government Chief Adviser, Professor Muhammad Yunus, to brief him on Hadi’s medical treatment and current condition.
During the phone call, Vivian Balakrishnan informed the Chief Adviser that, “Hadi’s condition is extremely critical.”
The Press Wing said the Chief Adviser urged the nation to remain calm and requested everyone to offer prayers for Hadi’s recovery.
It is worth noting that Sharif Osman Hadi, convener of Inqilab Manch, was campaigning as an independent candidate in the Dhaka-8 constituency. Last Friday afternoon, he was shot by assailants on Box Culvert Road in Purana Paltan, sustaining a gunshot wound to the head. He was first taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition and later shifted to Evercare Hospital.
Subsequently, on Monday afternoon, Sharif Osman Hadi was flown to Singapore by air ambulance for advanced treatment. He was accompanied by his brother, along with Bangladeshi doctors and nurses.
